PARISH CHURCH OF ST. BARNARD
is one nave building with the sacristy, built in 1621, extended in 1941 and reconstructed in 1988. The bell tower from 17th century, refurbished in the year 2000. It is 34 metres high. On the memorial plate in the church, where one of the Borisi family lies, there is a coat of arms of the noble family.
In the left side altar there is a painting of Virgin with Child, St. Dominic and St, Catherine called Our Virgin of the Holy Beads. This oil painting of an unknown artist is believed to be from the beginning of the 17th century and is painted in the manner of the early Venetian baroque. It has been placed at the altar again after restauration in 1994. Behind the altar there is a valuable painting presenting Holly Mother with a Child and saints. The painting is the most valuable work of art kept in Funtana. It was restored recently and according to the style there are two separate themes:
upper image of the Holly Mother with a Child is renaissance, while the lower part of the painting presenting saints, belongs to a baroque period. The author is unknown. On the side altars there are sculptures of Blessed Virgin Mary of Sorrow, St. Bernard and St. Anthony of Padua. Above the main door there is a choir. Right side altar keeps a portrait of Blessed Alojzije Stepinac, a cardinal and Zagreb arch bishop (1898-1960), known in the world for his courage and communist punishment. This oil painting was done by Vladimir Pavlinic. Painting was blessed in 1999. Above the entrance there is a quire with organs built in 1878, a gift from the Catholics of Weinheim, Germany.
SPRINGS
of fresh water which gave the name to the village are right next to the sea shore and on the same elevation as the sea surface. Yet they are giving fresh water. Since not too long ago the springs were used by the Porec inhabitants as well as the population of inland Istria, since they never run dry. People used to come for the water in carriages.
These springs gave water for the water supply system, partly subterranean, and as the archaeologists say still partly visible, constructed for the spacious and luxurious Roman villa on the point Zorna in Zeiena Laguna. It was built in the 2nd century and it had, besides all other things, two perystiles and pompously constructed thermae. Pier in the harbour was not only used by the loggers in villa, but also by the boats that sailed along the western istrian coast, when they needed a water supply. Next to it were the pools with fresh water from Funtana, since the boats couldn't dock in shallow waters near the springs.
One of the springs is called Perila (washers) since women used to wash the clothes there.

ST. LUCIA'S CHURCH
right on the main road, was built in 1750. Above facade there is a distaff with no bell. It is a private property, and the only regular service is on St. Lucia's day.
CASTLE - FORTIFICATION
is a protected cultural monument. Bernardo Borisi had it built 'four miles away from Porec and two miles away from Vrsar' in 1610, as it is written on Latin language on the doorway of the castle: 'In Thee Lord I trust. In 1610 a noble Bemardo Borisi from a famous Duklean and Bar family Borisi had this constructed'. It is a castle-fortification of the renaissance characteristics, rebuilt in baroque when additional windows were opened.
Castle was the first building and then the village grew around it. Some historians like to mention the possibility of an earlier, late medieval architecture on the spot where the castle was built. The interior of the castle is not open to the visitors.
THE CHURCH OF OUR LADY OFCARMEL
on the graveyard was built in 1631, reconstructed in 1907, the same year when the old graveyard near Perilawas abandoned.
