POSITION AND WEATHER

The small, typically Mediterranean town of Novigrad (Cittanova; meaning the new town) is situated on the west coast of Istria, on a small peninsula closing a deep, well protected harbour. This ancient urban centre rich with testimonies of its long history is one of the western gates of Croatia, Istria and Adriatic, the warmest European sea.

The citizens of their beloved Novigrad, diligent and friendly, are always ready to welcome you with respect and cordiality, looking forward to share fruits of the land and of the sea with their guests and visitors.

Summers are warm and sunny with the sea temperature ranging from 22 do 24 °C, winters are mild and without snow. One can enjoy swimming from the end od May up to the end of September along the stretch of rocks or pebble beaches bordered with refreshing rich and aromatic Mediterranean vegetation.

By car from north:
Ljubljana - Kopar - Kaštel ili Plovanija (Slo/Cro border) - Buje - Novigrad
or
Trst - Kopar - Kaštel/Plovanija - Buje - Novigrad

By car from east:
Zagreb - Rijeka - Tunel Učka - Pazin - Baderna - Poreč - Novigrad

By car from south:
Pula - Vodnjan - Sv. Lovreč - Poreč - Novigrad.

By sea:
The border-crossing Novigrad (open only in summer)

By plane:
frequent regular and charter flights in summer to the international airport in Pula or to the Ronchi dei Legionari Airport near Trieste
